I have used J Crowe brand of Lugol's Iodine for years. Then Carlyle showed up on Amazon with the same formula at half the price. So I thought I should give it a try. I muscle test to determine dosage for myself. I found that I needed less of the Carlyle as compared to the J Crowe. That indicated to me that the J Crowe is not as potent as the Carlyle despite the fact they should be the same. Anyway, I found that Carlyle is at least as good as J Crowe and a much better price. I see reviews where people say it tastes weird or smells funny. It never bothers me, but I have been taking for so many years that maybe I am used to it. I like it and just put it in water. I drink it right down and always take in the morning because sometimes iodine can ramp you up energetically and I don't want to be kept awake at bedtime. My husband tests for 5 drops per day which is 12.5 milligrams. I require about 20 drops or about 50 milligrams per day.
