I don't write reviews often but this warranted a review. I didn't expect much as I had tried different ways to extend wifi range to a detached building about 150-200 ft away. All have proved not effective as advertised and not worth using. My laptop shows a signal so weak it was actually unusable. The Netgear AC1200 was a breeze to set up. Connect a cat5 between the AC1200 and your computer, not a router but straight from the pc to the AC1200, enter the setup address in your browser, it will ID an avail network, enter the password and you're done. I took it to the building, changed my network to the AC1200 and bam 100% sig strength. BUY ONE, IT WORKS
