Soak old rags with the spray and keep them in sandwich bags with holes and position wherever you want to prevent access
I ordered this product in order to get rid of a giant and malicious squirrel which got into my favorite robin's nest and ate their eggs. I had to do some pocking around the internet but I did find a good way to apply the product. I read somewhere to take old rags, saturate them with the deterrent, and place the soaked rags in a sandwich bag where you would have pierced multiple holes with a puncher before hand. Then you put the pouches around the tree where you want to prevent the squirrels to access. So far so good! It has been about a month and the giant squirrel has not returned since that time. Wonderful news: I have seen robins making their nests in the same tree with success since then. We had a few thunderstorms and I have simply sprayed the product unto the pouch to re-soak it afterwards. I can get a swift of the smell when I walk by the tree and the ants have not touched it, which is a good sign. I will continue on and hopefully this predator animal will not return. I think it is important to have a type of fabric to absorb the deterrent and keeping it in a plastic bag with big holes in it allow the fumes to slowly be released over time. I have attached a photo of what it looks like; I have put 4 pouches at the base of the tree. I hope this helps!
