I really enjoyed this, hopefully season 3 will be just as good. There have been comments that "this isn't star trek", well maybe not, but why does it have to be? The other series and movies took liberties with the original concept and story line so I find it perfectly acceptable that Discovery doesn't "toe the line" in every detail. One reviewer commented that the klingons were now just "space ogres". Compare the klingons from the original and the ones in Next Generation and you'll see the point I'm attempting to make. I'm not a real "trekkie", I don't dress up and go to conventions or own memorabilia. But I have seen all of the series and movies, some twice or more. This is a well done series that earns and deserves the title Star Trek regardless of whether or not it adheres perfectly to the original concept/storyline.
