Best ever...except...
This food has done wonders for my 11 year old Border Collie. He's been vegan now for a year and eating V-dog, exclusively. Noticeable benefits:. Before starting his vegan diet, Fleet couldn't get up from a laying position quickly and or without obvious pain. He limped frequently after playing for short amounts of time and had trouble ascending stairs or getting in the car. He had also developed cataracts. Within 4 months, Fleet was 50% (no exaggeration) better. He was playing and jumping and running like his old self. Today his eyes show no cloudiness or blue film, he's sprinting after his ball, running up the stairs and over shooting his seat in the car and landing in mine 🙄. He's so healthy and happy. The one downfall, and the only thing keeping me from giving this food 5 stars:SEVERELY dry skin! Fleet grew up in the CA desert and when I started him on V-dog, he moved with me to Orange County, CA (much more humid). The climate should have prevented the dry skin from appearing, especially since he never suffered from it before. The culprit:. Lack of fats in V-dog. I solved the problem by adding 2Tbs of flax oil to his food, twice a day. Within two weeks, no more problems. Moral of the story:. USE V-DOG!!! Just make sure to get some plant based fats to add if dry skin is or becomes a problem.
