My wife needed a configuration upgrade in her office to eliminate the need to use the camera on her laptop. What she wanted was an external camera that could mount to her dual screen desk setup at home for work. And I suggested we get her a USB 1080P camera, which would be a good upgrade from the native 720P camera in her laptop. I looked at a lot of camera choices and was surprised to find name brands like Microsoft and Logitech either sold out or selling at 2x to 3x premium prices. So.. down the brand food chain I went with my shopping. I settled on this particular camera for theses key features: 65degree viewing angle, which is perfect for single desk internet conferencing, autofocus which is better than manual for fixed focal length, autobrightness adjust because lighting conditions can and do vary in my wifes office, and a positive indicator when the camera is on, which this camera does nicely with the wrap around blue halo led . This camera met all my requirements, and it was painless and easy to plug in an get up and running. There are cheaper cameras to be had... but this one really hits the mark in my opinion with respect to features vs price. There a some features my wife will not use (microphone is an example since she uses headphones).. but that is fine.. because this camera could be repurposed later for just about any need we may have for a PC camera.
