We drove 400 miles in the rain without issues. The lining is thick and of good construction. One thing to note when packing the bag, one end is deeper than the other for a tapered appearance (I assume to reduce wind resistance). The zipper on the front end is only as deep as the bag and you cannot "overfill" the front, but you can "overfill" and stack items higher in the back and easily zip over them. We EASILY fit 1 large suite case, 2 medium, and 1 small with PLENTY extra room to spare. My husband installed and packed the bag himself without issue. As a frequent Amazon shopper, I rely heavily on reviews and always strive to leave thorough reviews.
