I have been taking one capsule each morning on empty stomach since last 6 months. Have really helped me with my depression. I have been diagnosed with depression but I didn't want to take seratonin medicines as they can have loads of side-effects. SAM-e is involved in the same pathway, has been involved in several clinical trials but mostly with mixed-positive results which means it doesn't work for everyone. I am a Medicinal Chemistry student so I understood that as it's a natural metabolite, it won't have any side-effects if I try it. But most of the SAM-e available online and on Amazon are not the real dosage. Most brands list 400 mg of SAM tosylate disulphide compound as 400 mg of SAM-e but in reality it gives only 200 mg of SAM-e. To get 400 mg of SAM-e you need 800 mg of the compound like this package has. Also most brands have SAM-e as capsules which is not going to work. SAM-e needs to be enteric coated and should be individually blister packed as SAM-e is unstable when exposed to air. This is the real SAM-e dosage at a great price.
