I have always been impressed with binoculars made by this manufacturer, and I'm just as impressed with this recent monocular product. I think the best word to describe this optic is versatile. With the included tripod and phone mount, it satisfies several magnified viewing needs. It can function as a spotting scope when mounted or a monocular when hand held and takes up less space in your backpack than would a binocular. It has enough magnification and light gathering to do most tasks well and has enough eye relief to be comfortably used even while wearing glasses. The padded hand strap really makes a difference and provides a sturdy hold and the focusing is very fine and smooth with images clear and sharp. I don't think there is anything on the market at this price point that offers as many features or accessories (water and fog proofing and a tripod and phone mount). Combined with the phone adaptor and the zoom capabilities of a cell phone, you can capture some amazing shots. This monocular is very bright in the daylight and its large objective lens gathers light well for stargazing, and a full moon is stunningly bright and crater edges are crisp and clear. Twinkling stars become sharp pinpoints of light. The phone adaptor was more stable and easier to use than most I have tried, and provided nice images; and, I recommend you use a shutter timer feature or a Bluetooth selfie-stick remote control to prevent image shake so you do not have to touch your phone screen to snap a photo. Going back to versatility, when any tool tries to perform a lot of functions in one package, there are going to be trade-offs, and this is no exception. If you are looking for a small, tiny monocular to slide into your pants pocket, you will be disappointed. Think of it as a light weight half-set of binoculars that you can use without having to worry about image alignment or diopter adjustments and can hold and focus with only one hand, leaving the other one free. The focus ring on smaller monoculars are often tight and difficult to adjust using only one hand; but, this monocular focuses smoothly and easily with just the light touch of a finger. The included lens covers are also something you will not find on many monoculars and the rubber armor coating offers protection from bumps and scratches. I also noticed my smaller monocular could not focus as closely as this one, enabling me to sharply study birds visiting my balcony. This truly is a nicely priced multi-purpose package that fits many magnification needs. Left handers can easily focus with their thumb and still make use of the padded hand strap. All things considered, this monocular package proves to be an excellent value and it's lifetime warranty removes any worries regarding durability.
