I repotted them and all the seedlings look pretty happy. Delonix is the tricky one
I was skeptical at first but I did get seedlings from all four species. About 60% germination rate from seeds of Pinus and Picea, 30% from Jacaranda and Delonix. I repotted them and all the seedlings look pretty happy.
Delonix is the tricky one. The seeds were in the soil for 3 months without any sign of life while the other 3 species were growing well. I almost wanted to trash them (and give a 3-star review) then my partner made a last try by sawing the outer shells with a jagged kitchen knife. The attempt failed because the shells were extremely hard. We put them back to the pot and they enlarged dramatically (2-3 times) and germinated in the next 3 days. So I guess sawing did the trick! If your Delonix seeds seem dead, try sawing them a bit. But be careful, don't cut your fingers!
