As a fantasy fan, I've been waiting for this show to release for months! After watching the first three episodes, I am 100% hooked. The acting, the characters, the story, the dialogue are all (mostly) on point. It's not perfect, but it is clearly building to something amazing. There are plenty of fantasy clichés with a chosen one that is destined to save the world or destroy it, but the characters feel real rather than stereotyped caricatures. It also has some interesting twists like women being the only ones who can use magic and men who try go mad and have to be hunted down. The diversity in the casting is great and doesn't feel forced. It's not like other fantasy shows where we only see white people unless the main characters travel to an "exotic" location. I felt that the first episode was the weakest and the subsequent episodes just kept getting better. I hope the rest of the season follows that pattern because I have really enjoyed what I've seen so far.
