My lab mix, Maddie, had been dealing with back hip issues (which is very common in labs) for about six months. She is now almost 11 1/2 years old so she's really been slowing down. She hadn't been able to take long walks and didn't feel like running for her ball which she always enjoyed. I know this is common with labs so took her to the vet. All they did was fill a prescription for Rimadyl. No discussion about alternatives including oils. After 6 weeks of Rimadyl, my dog began stumbling and seems more sluggish than ever and became what almost appear to be disoriented at times. I then began own online research and decided on this Hemp Oil. After getting the Rimadyl out of her system for a few days, I started her on 5,000 mg of Hemp Oil, 1/2 of the syringe, twice a day. She didn't seem to mind the taste or smell of it one bit. She is literally as good as she was over a year ago. She still gets tired but isn't struggling as much and even has been playing with her tennis ball and lasts longer on walks!!! I highly recommend this oil!!! Get your dogs off of the expensive and dangerous Rimadyl, and needless expense of testing your pet to make sure their kidneys aren't failing. Yes that's a potential side effect of the medication along with many other bad side effects. I can't believe vets aren't talking more about this alternative and safe treatment. Just because they are veterinarians, doesn't mean they know everything about your animal! The Hemp Oil is supposed to treat anxiety also but I can't comment on that as Maddie has always been a mellow dog, even as a young puppy. if your dog has hip/joint issues or arthritis, BUY THIS OIL and be diligent about dosing with food or water. I still cant' believe the improvement in a matter of 6 weeks.
