8" Twin, 8" Full, and 10" Queen deliver affordable comfort over the years
I currently own three mattresses in 3 sizes and 2 levels of thickness (8 inches for the twin and full mattresses, 10 inches for the queen). Here are my thoughts from prior reviews:
"Mattress is exactly as advertised, with encased springs for 6 inches and 2 inches of memory foam on top for a total of 8 inches. This hybrid mattress is medium-firm, thanks in part to the memory foam. I sleep on medium to firm beds depending on materials, so this mattress is perfect for me.
Packaging is vacuum sealed in a rectangular box. I ordered the twin size for about $91. Specs are 75"x39"x8". I unrolled the mattress, laid it as flat as possible, and opened the hermetically (vacuum) sealed plastic. This mattress expanded to 7 inches height within 5 minutes. I left the mattress alone for the recommended 3 hours max (the beauty of encased spring mattresses is short expansion time). The mattress height exceeds 8 inches, about 8.5 inches. I recommend cutting the four corners of the plastic seal to allow air to flow from all directions, that way the mattress expands evenly.
The feel of the mattress would be medium-firm, as mentioned earlier. I feel like I'm floating as I lay on this mattress right now. I previously had a 6 inch encased coil mattress 5 years ago that was surprisingly comfortable, even though it didn't fully expand to 6 in. So I decided to give this one a try and it's well worth the low price. Fortunately my mattress came with no defects, but I imagine the price point of $91 would likely bring more defective products than higher quality mattresses would. This will be my 5th night sleeping on this mattress with no issues whatsoever. Will try another mattress soon." -January 2017
"Feb 09, 2018 update: 'This mattress contours to your body after extended periods of time. However, those coils spring back in place and the memory foam slowly regains its original shape after half an hour to an hour max. Today marks 3 months I'm sharing this with my girlfriend, with my full size mattress having arrived this same day. This mattress still pushes 9 inches in thickness to this day. I'm glad for thus purchase and still recommend this product.'"
The full-size mattress I received in February 2018 is still wonderful in May of 2020. What I've shared regarding my twin mattress remains true for the full mattress as well, with the exception being the full mattress is a little plusher than the twin. If the twin was a 5.5 (1 is firmest, 10 is plushest), then the full is more like a 6.5. Although my girlfriend and I no longer use this mattress, my dad tells me it's still good as new thanks to the mattress protector we invested in. I made a recent visit and confirmed the mattress was still in excellent shape with no flattening or deteriorating down whatsoever.
May 05, 2020: Although it's been almost a week since my 10" queen mattress delivered, I unboxed it 5 days ago. The matress was wrapped in three layers of plastic that was welded together instead of a single layer with tape to secure the rolled up mattress. This mattress expanded to 9 inches within the first 10 minutes and reached its 10 inches of thickness in under 2 hours. I left the mattress alone for 3 hours to ensure it properly expanded. As mentioned earlier, hybrid coil mattresses have the advantage of expanding quickly compared to full memory foam or gel/memory foam hybrid mattresses. They also retain their height better, with the foam being more likely to fail. Right now, my mattress is at least 10 inches thick with firmness/plushness similar to the twin mattress I had. This being my third Linenspa hybrid mattress in 3 years, I must commend the brand and Amazon for consistency. These mattresses all arrived in the same kind of packaging, have all delivered excellent bang-for-buck comfort, and were all stored at one of Amazon's warehouses for less than 9 months. For those who've likely had issues with defective mattresses, take heed to check the labels on the box of the manufactured date and/or the date or was shipped from the manufacturer to the vendor's warehouse. If long-term storage of this mattress in a vacuum seal is a likely culprit, you'll get confirmation upon reading the labels.
Right now my pregnant girlfriend is sleeping like a baby on this 10" queen mattress. On a side note, I ordered the 10" mattress with the frame and the frame is great. It definitely holds 300lbs, plus the 80-85lbs the mattress weighs, with ease.
