So perfect for putting in my 8 windows that face my tree lined, city street. I didn't even take my coat off when I found them at my doorstep today. I rushed upstairs and put them together (a snap), the on/off switch is at the base of the candle-- you have to lift it from the silver candle holder. They work well with the remote and I was surprised when I found 16 AA batteries that came with them. That was a nice treat! Yay for some token Holiday generousity! As far as the crabbypants people who thought they look cheap, well, maybe under glaring, fluorescent lights and a magnifying glass, you won't be able to fool your nosy in-laws into thinking that you've put out real hand-dipped candles sitting in perfect silver candlestick holders that have been hand polished by your kitchen help. But I'm happy with what they are: darling little fake, flickery candles that I don't have to touch to turn on and that won't burn my house down. 3 weeks later: Still LOVE them! I have them on the 8 hours timer: from 4:30p-12:30a. It's such a delight to see them in my windows when I come home from work. They are still going strong on the first set of batteries. I've ordered two sets. Out of 16 candles, only one didn't work and the company included a little note that if there are any problems, to contact them directly and they will arrange for replacements. I've asked for the one to be replaced and I'll keep you informed on how quickly it comes. Still highly recommend! They are darling. 6 weeks later: Still still LOVE them! yay! I want to thank the amazing customer service directly from the company (I didn't go through Amazon but used the link they provide in a little flyer that comes with the candles). Out of 16 candles, only one didn't work properly. And since I had split one order with my mother, I asked for an additional remote. They immediately answered, then shipped the replacement candle a complimentary extra remote. It was a snap. They didn't even ask for the faulty one back which is even nicer. They still come on at 4:30p and after 6 weeks are still going strong on the first set of batteries. So order away! These are so delightful. x So go ahead, order away.
