Large blade pushes air forward from around the fan and the small blades pushes air from the center. Feels great!
Costway 16" pedestal fan is the first fan I've owned with double blades. I didn't believe there would be a big difference between one or two blades, but there really is! When I am close to my other fan you can tell the wind is moving out from around the outside of the fan, but lacking in the middle. When sitting from afar it isn't noticeable, but if you are like me, I am hot all the time and sit close to the fan. With the additional small blade to this fan you get a steady push of air from the center, as well! I really do enjoy this addition!
There are three different modes that you can control from the remote control or the control panel located below the blades- Steady speed, Normal Wind and Sleep Mode. When the fan is first powered on it will begin on the steady mode at the first speed level; the speed modes are low, medium and high. Then you may adjust the speed or select a mode, as well as, turn on oscillation and a timer. The "Normal Wind" selection starts off at the low fan speed, then gradually moves to the medium, followed by the high speed. After the increase to the high speed, it gradually slows down and repeats. This mode is imitates a breeze growing into a gust of wind. While in this mode you can adjust the fan speed if you prefer a stronger start and the fan will adjust accordingly. The "Sleep Mode" is very similar to the "Normal wind", but it starts very soft and at a low speed, then slowly increases to a medium speed- imitating a light breeze. You may adjust the speeds of the sleep mode too.
Overall, it has been working exactly as advertised. When the package is delivered, everything snaps together. You will need one small screwdriver to tighten the grills together and 2 AAA batteries for the remote control. Thanks for watching!
