Velcro, opening, battery compartment & screw assembly, in mind needs a Physics degree. But when done it IS fun. Would buy again.
Overall it's winner. Need a Dollar Store set of small, thin screw drivers or you'll never get the screws out. Took 10 mins to:
1) find where the Velcro opening was
2) Unscrew the TWO (2) screws to open the ball.
3) Unscrew the 1 (3rd screw) of batteries' compartment.
4) Push the square button BEFORE U tuck Velcro piece inside cover
5) Finally time to play
HOWEVER, once it's done when you DO PUSH SQUARE ON-OFF switch & tuck Velcro cover together, IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!
Don't know about long life of batteries- 3-AAA (Triple A), but we played w it for a good hour & our Aussie who's not very destructive, loved it.
I'd say, if your dog is rough on toys & LIKES TO PULL TOYS APART, you either need to pay super close attention or maybe this isn't the toy for your dog.
Our Aussie isn't too destructive w toys. He got a bit scared when it jumped around inside his mouth, but didn't stop him from dragging it by the tail & shaking the heck out of it.
It was definitely worth the $13 we paid for a night of fun with our Aussie.
Would buy this one again.
