Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I had a Rubik's cube with me almost constantly in high school in the 80's. I used to play with it when I was stuck in places where I was waiting with nothing to do, like at a waiting room at the doctor's office, between classes, etc.. Back then, I was able to solve the cube but it took some time. I was very happy to find out that I can still solve it today. It takes me about a day. Last year, I gave one to a guy I was dating for his birthday. Before even trying to solve it himself, he googled how to solve it. He found many sites and YouTube videos that gave specific instructions to solve it in a few minutes. There are many algorithms out there. So he followed one and was able to solve the cube in a few minutes while referring to his notes. It took him quite a bit of time to figure it out even when he had directions and he was unable to solve it without his notes. People were very impressed with this. My brother told me he could solve it in the 80's. He would physically take it apart and put it back together again. The algorithms my ex used weren't available to my brother back in the 80's because we didn't have the internet. Anyway, I recommend the Rubic's cube because it's fun, challenging, forces you to use your brain and is actually solvable. It would be a great gift to give someone who is in the hospital. It's also good for kids. My brother got one for his kids. He only allows them a certain period of time every day that they are allowed to use electronic devices (iPads, TV's, video games, etc). The kids play with the cube during these blackout periods. I have been relying on these reviews for my own purchase decisions for many years. I recently started posting reviews because I am disabled and have free time. I hope my reviews are helpful. I only post a review after I have used the product for an adequate amount of time to have a basis for an opinion and I update my reviews if my opinion changes.
