Update: since the first time I have used this color, I’ve since used Sea Witch, Lipstick, and Blue Smoke as well as my favorite Chocolate Cherry. As seen in the images above, I’ve had good luck with each color I’ve used. I did a little color adjustment to Sea Witch with Electric Lizard from Manic Panic for a truer green color, but the intensity throughout the life of each color stayed beautiful and true. Personally, this is also my favorite smelling semi permanent color on the market. Arctic Fox smells too purple for my tastes. Lime Crime is an awesome company, and their color has not been any different. Be sure that you know what coverage you want: TINT doesn't do more than that, and fades quickly as it's meant to. FULL COVERAGE does come out much deeper and seems to last quite a bit longer. You can't wash your hair every day! As a stylist, I can say that HOW you apply any of these colors will make a HUGE difference in how long they last and how bright they come out. You can't apply on dirty hair like normal hair color and expect them to come out bright. There is nothing in them to open your cuticle like there is with regular hair color. This is a vegetable dye and will need clean, non conditioned hair for best results. Personally, I've used Arctic Fox, Manic Panic, Sparks, Joico, Ion, and Pravana, as well as many other semi permanent hair colors. I always wash my hair with a clarifying shampoo, dry it completely and apply the color. All of these non-processing solution colors need to sit on for a LONG time for best results. My minimum with no heat and a processing cap is 2 hours. Rinsing until the water is clear, light shampooing on the scalp and heavy conditioning will help seal it in. I also use CHI oil to seal it in with a flat iron. Mine will last a minimum of 4 weeks with intense color with this method. A minimum amount of washing helps preserve the color as well. Personally, I've used Chocolate Cherry. I prefer the deep, vibrant colors and Chocolate Cherry delivered. I've had it for about ten days and it's still beautiful. Brighter, but not faded looking at all. I will be using Blue Smoke next, with hopefully the same results. The front of my hair was pre-lightened but not light blonde, the dark about a medium brown. This color went all over to give the beautiful results you see below. TL;DR these are great if you use them like you would other temporary brights. Be aware of using full coverage or a tint to get the results you're hoping for.
