When I bought this, I was looking for a teapot that I could boil water in. It said it was stovetop safe, but apparently they meant something else by that. The directions are that you put boiling water into it, not that you heat it on the stove. It is very thin glass, and I'm sure it would break on a stove. The owner reached out to me and assured me that the teapot, though it looks fragile, will be fine on the stove. I had already given the teapot away, so I have no personal experience with it. It's a beautiful teapot, and I would consider getting another one. UPDATE: The company reached out to me and graciously sent me another, very beautiful teapot set with tea and a warmer. Now that I know it can be heated on the stove, I love it!
