I'm an ER nurse and use trauma shears many times each shift. I have made the mistake of buying budget scissors before that can't cut worth a darn. There's nothing more embarrassing than getting a trauma patient in, going to cut off their clothes and then realizing your scissors can't cut worth anything. These scissors are wonderful. I have used them a total of 4 shirts, that's 48 hours of cutting a variety of items. These handled everything wonderfully. The best test for me is cutting fiberglass splinting material. To cut that stuff we have to have good scissors. These worked very well cutting it (see pictures). They cut everything else perfectly, including dressing material and clothes. To top it off, the black on black looks sharp. I like the way it looks so much better than my other silver and black pair. It's a little harder to assess if there's any sketchy residue left on them, but I clean them after each use so it's not a big deal. Using the hospital grade disinfecting wipes on them was fine. The paint hasn't started coming off or anything. I always update my reviews if I encounter problems though, so if there's nothing new than I'm still loving them. I do expect a normal amount of dulling, mostly due to the fiberglass splinting materials, but that's just the nature of scissors. I purchased these at a discount to test and review. That has no bearing on the rating or review I give them. They are just wonderful shears! Update: I used the same pair of scissors for 8 months. A couple shifts ago I used them and left them at the nurses station. The next day they were gone. I can say 100% honestly that these were just as good the last time I used them as the first time. The techs cut most of the fiberglass though, I hear that dulls them quicker. I use them mostly for cutting clothes, gauze, coban, ect. I really, really miss my scissors. I love the black on black. Now I need to remember where I put the 2nd pair!
