We looked around at a variety of locations, including a very well known high end gourmet store. Quite frankly, this spiralizer is so much better made than anything else we saw, and the price was pretty hard to beat. Improvements that they've made over the typical designs include having a more normal "press down" instead of "press sideways" operation. The fact that it also works as a simple citrus juicer is nice, but it's also a mandolin slicer. Everything is put right into the built in container, so it's a lot less mess than most. Best part: The cutting blades store inside of the unit itself, it all stores compactly without the typical loose parts that are often lost. We're quite pleased with this purchase and have recommended it to friends and family.
