When I got this I immediately took out the inner filter assembly. It came out but is tight - good for keeping grounds out of your coffee. But then I could not get the filter assembly back into the metal container, it was WAY too tight. I literally lifted myself off the ground with all my body weight to get it back in but it would not go. I watched a YT review and the guy didn't have this problem while using it in the field. Now, thinking back to 6th grade science class I remember that when stuff heats up it expands. So I heated some water to a boil on the stove, poured it in the metal container, let it stand for 4 minutes, and bingo! the filter slid in easy peasy - working as intended.
