I bought this collar for a Siberian Husky and it has worked very well. Huskies have thick hair (which was not an issue; the collar worked as designed) and howl rather than bark. This collar took my huskies separation anxiety howling down to a very manageable level. My husky quickly figured out the decibel level that wouldn't trigger the collar, a whine/wimper level, and kept relatively quiet. This kept my neighbors quite happy! One improvement I would like to see in this collar: Show me when and how much correction was used in my absence. I really do wonder if she is getting constant corrections throughout or makes a bit of noise at the beginning and quiets down. Or if she is not being corrected at all anymore. I tested the collar on myself before putting it on my dog. This was terrifying because I had to actually put it on my neck and bark to trigger the vibration and noise sensors. This collar (on levels 1-4) did not hurt me at all. Know the feeling you get when you are in a shopping mall and touch the escalator arm rail and get a quick static electricity zap? That is exactly what this collar feels like. It startled me, but, it quickly turned into laughter at what I was doing.
