I got this for evenings out to read menus since I typically just use my reading glasses at home. This is a fairly large lens, and it has some weight to it. It looks more expensive than the price I paid. The lens measures 3" in length, 1.5 inches wide. The chain appears well made and sturdy. It measures 32 inches in total length, perfect for using the magnifying glass, and has the lobster claw clasp, which is more commonly seen in higher-quality jewelry. I showed it to my sister, then watched the look of surprise on her face when she heard it was a magnifying glass. One word of caution, though, due to the weight and length of chain, leaning forward to stand up causes it to swing forward, possibly striking an object (such as the table). I can see that the thinner lower portion of the lens may be susceptible to chipping if the wearer doesn't control the swinging of the pendant with movement.
