Bonide copper fungicide was almost instantly effective against mildew on Monarda and so far has prevented spread elsewhere in garden. It may yet keep me from losing all of the pepper plants I purchased at a nursery to bacterial spot and seems to have so far blocked its spread to other seed-raised vegetables. Not sure of names of other fungus diseases and blights, but my garden in hot, humid VA has seen its share over the past few years. I thought I was observing all precautions and still ended up with chemical burns on my arms and legs as well as conjunctivitis. I wasn’t aware I had gotten any on me. I wear glasses. I wore a bandana around my nose and mouth to save my mask for other uses. However, I saw some squash and cucumbers that needed pruning while I was spraying. So before bathing, I cut the vines and leaves and carried them to the far edge of the property where we dispose of such things. All those little, irritating, recently-sprayed hairs, wrapped in m arms. I also walked in my mint bed, spraying where I’d cut it back the week prior because of blight. Bare stems must have rubbed my legs and ankles. Finally, I came and quickly showered off, not thinking any product was on me. The burns began appearing 12 hours later and continued to worsen the next couple of days. At least they haven’t been painful, but now 4 weeks later, I’m beginning to think I have permanent, dark and very noticeable scars that have peeled several times on my legs and forearms. I wear long pants and long sleeves now when I use the product and shower immediately after. So should all users.
