Amazon.com needs to greenlight Tig Notaro's "One Mississippi" right now, and give it a two season (12 episodes per season) order. Tig Notaro's life has been an open book for the last few years. From her legendary set at Largo in Los Angeles, we learned that Tig lost her mother, lost her breasts to cancer, lost a partner, and lost a lot of weight and energy due to C-diff. She publicly came out and confronted life's challenges with humor, courage and grace. In the very personal pilot episode of "One Mississippi," Tig takes us on her journey home. While the pilot is very dark, the possibilities are endless and full of light, in the future. The casting is brilliant, and you've got to bring the nurse with the infectious laughter, back for more. I laughed and I cried, and am sure that Amazon.com will find a place for this very poignant show in their stable of outstanding programs. The creative talent involved in this project is second to none. Nicole Holofcener is a brilliant film director, and she did a masterful job with the pilot. The script was tight and well balanced, with the right number of laughs to sustain our interest, when the drama on screen was so sad. Tig Notaro is a star, and it's exciting to have a front row seat as she's catapulted to being a superstar.
