I waited to write this review... I purchased this vacuum on Cyber Monday for a great deal. I have used it almost daily since then. I wanted to use the vacuum before I reviewed it. I will tell you how I use it and why I love this vacuum. I have tile and bamboo floors in two levels of my home. These are the main floor with entry, kitchen, living room, and the second level master bedroom. Previously I was using a Kenmore Magic Blue that I got in trade. A good vacuum, but I was tired of beating the heck out of my house with the canister and didn't vacuum as frequently as I would have liked because it was a hassle. Enter the two weeks' worth of research I did on cordless vacuums. I wanted one that contained a handheld unit, a beater brush, and was cordless. I looked at the #1 best seller vacuum on Amazon, the Dyson, and several others. I have learned that vacuum reviews may be more subjective than any other product out there, because use is so much different and expectations vary wildly. I hope that my review helps my fellow researchers to understand this product's pros and cons a bit better. After all of that research, I decided to purchase the ION Rocket for the great cyber Monday deal. At that time it had 2 reviews, both very good. I use this vacuum nearly every day on the main and upper floors of my home. I have two dogs and a husband that refuses to take his shoes off to come in the house, so anything and everything is tracked in. I can vacuum everything I would want to vacuum daily on one charge, and usually have a few minutes of run time left to do baseboards in a room, shelves, etc. The vacuum does a great job at picking up hair (human and dog), lint, fuzz, powder, gravel, etc. It does a fine job on the low pile rugs that are the first thing our feet hit when we walk in the door. It even gets dog hair off those rugs. Does it deep clean them? No, but I can use my Shark Navigator for those, and the ION Rocket definitely brings them up to an acceptable level of daily clean. No, it doesn't stand up on its own. That bothers me less than I thought it might. It will sit on the counter without falling off, on a couch or chair, the kitchen table, etc. So if I need to set it down I just set the base on the nearest surface and it's no bit deal. The dust cup empties from the power head. So I vacuum, take the head off the wand, empty it, hang the head on the wand and plug it in. That whole process takes only a few seconds. Then it sits out of the way until the next day. The accessories have no place for storage, but I don't use them daily (almost never, actually). I placed the three accessories and the manual in a small canvas bag and it sits right on the vacuum while it's charging. Again, no big deal. The entire assembly comes apart easily into the piece I want to use. If I want to take off the beater head, its very simple to do one handed. Same with taking the wand off. This is a well designed vacuum that is simple to use. The battery life increases as the battery is charged and drained a few times. The manual refers to this as conditioning and it really does run longer after dying and then being charged. I haven't timed the actual run time of the machine, but again that is because it has done everything I want it to do. I would absolutely recommend this vacuum to someone who wants to do frequent, "light" cleaning. I did use the vacuum tonight after not vacuuming for about a week. Yes I had to stop and empty the cup, but after a week of in-and-out I expected that it would pick up a lot. And it didn't disappoint. :)
