Believe it or not I was going to return this item due to it not working properly and not cutting the melons. Needless to say upon packing up the product I came upon the instructions and realized maybe I was not following the directions. You must cut and inch off both ends of the melon before trying to cut. Once I did that it worked perfectly. I always say the instructions are provided so you can follow them, but obviously I did not listen to my own words. I also read numerous other reviews indicating the product did not work. I bet they did not read them either.
