So, after reading the (mostly) somewhat negative reviews on here, I could not find anything that held this much media for a budget price and decided to order 2 of these. I told myself going in that I would be extra careful assembling them, and would just deal with any problems that came up. And you know what? I had ZERO problems. I've had shelving from department stores that didn't go together as smoothly as these. Every hole was where it needed to be. Couple of tips for those who had problems: READ the instruction manual, and refer back to it if you don't understand where something goes, or how to orient it. Yes, at one point the instructions were a bit vague...however, by looking ahead a few steps you can clearly see how it needs to be put together. Also, when screwing into "flimsy" particle board, if you hear the sound of wood cracking, STOP SCREWING! You don't need to manhandle this stuff! Yes, it requires wall anchors. Yes, it probably won't survive a move or two. But you know what? If you want furniture that will last long enough to be passed down to your children, PAY FOR IT. This is budget furniture, and in the realm of cost/benefit, these are great. They look fantastic, and hold way more media for those of us who still love displaying our collections of movies and/or games. I concede that there may have been manufacturing issues in the past. However, after assembling two of them, I would bet money that those have been rectified.
