Don't pay that ridiculous price for the Bialetti!
I've waited until I had a chance to give this unit a thorough test drive before reviewing it. Have made perhaps 50 or 60 pots with it.
When I was shopping I didn't want to pay for the Bialetti 12-cup, because I thought it was too much money. Love the Bialetti quality but bought the Primula to save some dough. It looks like it's gone up since then, but still less than half the cost of the Bialetti.
I can happily report that the Primula Moka pot works perfectly. Just make sure you use low heat, fill the water reservoir up to just below the valve, and screw the two halves together very tightly. Get a couple of those silicone jar opening mats if you don't have the hand strength. Tighten it as much as possible, then go another 1/8 inch.
I am certain that the people who are complaining about broken handles tried to use it for leverage when screwing or unscrewing the pot. There's no other way to break it except to give it sideways load. It's only there for pouring, folks.
5 stars, without any reservations.
