Here's how to make it work!
I had one when I was a kid, like probably any of you reading this. I ordered this, expecting it to be cheap, as the one I had thirty years ago was thin and "tinny" also. I was not surprised. It is very thin metal, but the faint tinkling sound brought back memories!
When we first set it up, it didn't turn, and we waited for a few minutes, tried straightening everything, reset it, etc. I read the disappointed reviews and noticed that 1/2 of them were positive, and 1/2 weren't. There are no assembly instructions, so you have to guess based on the picture. I dismantled the thing and studied it then I had an epiphany!
Just be sure to turn the small "spike" shaped piece to have the pointed, needle end pointing UP!. This piece is "hidden" in the photo and covered up by the larger piece that the top angel sits upon. The flat end will not allow the fans to rotate. So, just make sure the spike is pointing upward, and balance the fan piece (blades pointing downward) and it turns easily - it should turn RIGHT after you have lit the candles, too. If it doesn't, disassemble and try again.
Good luck and happy holiday memories!
