These gloves are great for the bbq. My issue before with larger pieces of meat was being able to get an even sear on all sides. I used to scramble with multiple tongs in order to flip my roast. Not anymore. With these gloves I can just grab the meat with ease and flip it. It makes cooking on the bbq so much easier. I never have to worrt about scraping my knuckles on the oven racks as well trying to take out a cookie sheet since my whole hand is covered. Cleaning is simple. Either throw them in the dishwasher, or if they aren't too dirty, just pop them on and run the water on them like you are washing your hands!
