What a blessing this item is. I am 70 years old and two months ago I fell and broke my Femur right next to the ball and it was a nasty break the surgeon said. I did OK at the rehab facility but once I got home it was a whole different ball game. We had new taller toilets put in when we remodeled the bath and I thought I would be fine. Come to find out that those tall toilets weren't that tall after all. Once down I couldn't get up without help, plus it was hard on the knees. Then I found this little beauty and ordered it and I have been in Heaven ever since it arrived. It has a lip that rests inside the bowl and holds it in place but it still allows it to shift a tad one way or the other. Not to worry, it won't fall off. I did have an occasion where I sat there so long that when I stood up it stuck to my behind, other than that I have no complaints. You have to use it with a bit of common sense of course. I lower myself down gently and I move around slowly and I can lean one side or the other to wipe without any mishaps. The only thing I might add is that I am 5'9" and my feet barely touch the floor so I found something to slide in place to rest my feet on and when I am ready to stand, I move it out if the way for safety reasons. If your toilet measures 15" and is not elongated, then you should have no troubles using this item. My knees feel so wonderful now that they are not being taxed to the max like they were before. If I could give it an extra star, I would.
