Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

Bought this for my wife and her new polymer clay hobby. She needed a clean smooth reliable work surface and this glass surface is perfect for her needs!!! The glass remains cool while she's working on it. This is important because her work area as it is happens to be where she wants it to be at the time. One day it might be in the living room in front of the heater, the next it might be in the kitchen. If the clay is getting to warm laying it on the glass and letting it cool and rest has it firmed up again in no time. Even when the living room is toasty warm! Being she's just starting out she lacks a lot of the nicer supplementary tools like a square cookie cutter of various sizes and the grid lines allow her to easily make clean accurate cuts with her tissue knife. Very important since her stash of clay hasn't grown very large yet and she's using partial blocks of clay rather than full blocks while she's learning the techniques of making pleasing Skinner blends etc. The glass is nice and thick but it's tempered so should it for some unknown reason break if dropped on the floor it won't shatter into a bunch of razor sharp splinters it should just turn to easily swept up chunks. This is of particular importance to us having kids. So we see this as an important safety feature as well! The four corner covers are easily removable should you not desire them to be there. Personally I like this as it adds to the versatility in use. My wife however hasn't commented on her feelings about them. Edges are all nicely finished with no sharp places or risks of being cut. When everything is considered we both feel that ~$20 for this glass work surface is quite a bargain for what you receive! It's certainly money well spent unlike the first pasta type machine we bought for her!!! Well there you have it. Perhaps not my best review but truthfully how do you provide an in depth review of a piece of glass no matter how wonderfully it works? I/we bought her glass surface with our own money for full asking price off Amazon receiving no discounts compensation or sexual favors for the review. It's my intent to provide honest reviews of items I buy and use (wife uses in this case) to help others make better informed buying decisions. Since I've spent the money I try to show the good bad ugly and indifferent as I'm able to do you can see it before you spend your hard earned money.
