My little tips for curing nails
I was first skeptical of the super affordable price of this LED lamp especially with few negative reviews I read. I've bought a UV lamp in the past for $160 and I've only used it few times because it takes forever to cure. LED lamps cure in 30 seconds vs UV 1 min. I'm easily discouraged by neg. reviews when purchasing so I've had this item saved in my wish list for almost a month.
I bought the black one and it came in a small box packaged nicely. When it arrived it was so light compare to the heavy UV lamp, I was thinking "oh great, it's cheap I get what I paid for" but WRONG. I can't stress enough to how much I love this lamp and how quick it is to do my nails. It takes me about 30-35 min to do my nails with this lamp whereas with the UV lamp it look me almost 45-50 min.
The way I cure my nails:
1. Ph bond
2. Foundation gel (30 sec)
3. Color gel (30 sec) x 2 coats (30 sec) = 1 min
4. Finish gel (1 min) and done!
I've tried doing my nails without the ph bond because I've read many reviews saying its pointless and that 99% alcohol does the same job. There's a HUGE difference with or without the ph bond, without it my nails peel like bananas by the 3-4th day. With the PH bond, the gel stays on until I want to take them off (2 weeks).
Another tip for those having trouble with the tip of the gel shrinking, try coloring your nails and curing two fingers at a time to quickly cure before it shrinks. This does the trick for me and I've struggled with this for so long. Also make sure to paint the edge of the tips of the nails too. The key is to paint your nails THIN no matter how dark and opaque you want to color your nails! Build up the opacity with thin layers and it will help with the bubbling & shrinking issues.
To the negative reviews saying how this doesn't dry no matter how much you cure it, please wipe off the finish gel with alcohol after you cure it to get rid of the residue ! It literally takes only 1 min to dry. Also you need to make sure the gel polish you're using is compatible with LED light because if it doesn't dry it's probably for a UV light. The issue is the polish not the lamp.
Overall I am very stoked with this lamp, it's an extra plus for being so small and light so that I can take this around with me if I need to. The lamp is small but your whole hand can cure at the same time! :)
Sorry for the long review, I just don't want people to return this awesome lamp for misunderstanding how to use it!
