A lot for less
Installed in a 99 Nissan Altima. Was so quick and so smooth and I have not installed a car stereo in at least 16 years. Of course I come from the era of big boxes, big amps, big speaks, and a lot of caulk to ensure you could hear the bass and not the rattle. 100s of hours of my youthful years were spent installing and fine tuning car audio. This was installed in my daughter's first car. The Altima factory mounts transitioned to this head unit almost perfectly. Almost because it took only three screws and the factory uses 4 but the 3 screws were more that sufficient. I would also suggest buying the wiring kit for your cars make and model it makes these jobs so much faster, crimping wires outside of the car. We have tested all the feature of this deck. Like many other complaints, the stereo does not come in great, I don't live in the sticks, but it appears as if the antenna power is lacking. Stereo programs nice and easy and offers 3 FM modes and 2 AM (like anyone would use AM, but they are there) The bluetooth sync for music and hands free worked great on both an iPhone 5S and Android Galaxy S5. Synced right up no issues and controlled both devices perfectly. I was really impressed as this is one of two reasons for purchasing this unit. I want my first time driver to focus on the road not her phone. She can make a playlist on the phone sync up to the unit and not have to touch it. The hands free mic and speakers sound great in call, I tested with my wife while driving and had very good clarity. CD grab and eject is quick and smooth but it does take a long time to "load" the disk. Backup Camera and DVD player will be updated later... Has programmed sound settings that do the job nothing special. 4 standard backgrounds, USB for charging is neat all we have used it for so far, have not tested the SD card. The display is BRIGHT, it concerns me a bit for night driving as you cannot dim the display anyway that I can tell, would be interested if someone knows how. Aux port worked as expected and the screen is pretty clear. There is a calendar and calculator feature, neat but who knows if it will get used. At the end of the day, for the price, it is pretty darned good. You could get a lot less for more, but with this unit you get a lot for less. It was just installed so I will edit with any updates.
