I recently returned from a trip to Peru where I hiked the Inca Trail in the middle of rainy season. I initially googled the best waterproof hiking shoes and these didn't make the cut, but they were in my price range and I went for it anyway. As expected, it rained at least a little each day and my feet stayed dry for the entire four days and three nights on the trail. I can't say the same for my fellow hikers. One woman actually bought Salomon hiking boots, which were rated #1, and she was upset about the quality/the fact that her feet were damp. Additionally, these shoes are made to last. The trail was never flat; it was mostly made of uneven stones. I found myself bumping the tops of these shoes on rocks, but they never fell apart. Ankle support was also fantastic. I'm also convinced that these boots are the most comfortable shoes in my closet. I could wear these every day of my life...except I work in a hospital and it would probably be frowned upon. This is my first Amazon review and I order products from Amazon at least two times a month. I am so thoroughly impressed by this product that I felt compelled to write this review. Buy these boots. You won't regret it.
