I had read from some reviews that people found bugs in theirs. I saw some little tiny (half the size of a pencil eraser), beige/grey things on the outside of the bag of my cushion but I don't think they were bugs. It kinda just looked like cardboard box debris. I meant to check them out under the microscope because they almost looked like they had little legs and tiny antennae but I think that was just my imagination. Also, I examined the rest of the cushion thoroughly and found no trace of the unknown things inside the plastic bag, which further supports the hypothesis that they were not bugs. Furthermore, I unzipped the cover of the cushion, no bugs. None along the seams or inside. None on the bag that holds the buckwheat...I opened the zipper of the white, inner part of the cushion and shook the back several times, no sign of any bugs. If the little beige/grey things WERE bugs, you would expect to see more of them or find them elsewhere. Anyways, I use cushion for meditation. I sit on it and it's a good firmness. It's a tiny bit low but that's only because I haven't been stretching. I started stretching to open my hips up again and anticipate this cushion being a perfect height. It's like what you would find at a meditation center. 40 bucks is a tiny bit steep but I used my reward points and so, I got it for 20, which I feel it's definitely worth.
