I first bought these gadgets in black and put one in the garage and one in the unfinished basement. Both areas were crawling with spiders and insects. After about a week or two I notice a considerable decline in the amount of insects I saw in both areas. There were less spider webs, less mosquitoes and other insects. My wife was so impressed we bought 2 more for indoors (white), one on the main floor and one in our bedroom, she hates the sight of anything crawling. There are things to note: 1) the sound created by these devices do not penetrate walls, so place in an open area where you think it would be most effective and cover as much area. 2) there are 3 noise levels (green (low), blue (med), red (high))- I use blue (med) it seems to do the job for most insects. I believe the red level would be more for rodents since humans "can" hear noise emitted by the device. 3) the device takes up both sockets of the wall unit (which is the one thing I don't like). to avoid this you may have to use an adapter or extension cord, so you can use the other outlet. 4) it takes about a week or so to take into effect. To ensure that you are seeing results, clean the area of all webs, insects, give a good clean, then place inside the area. If you see the webs come back or a number of insects in the area again, it's not working. Either up the level (green -> blue or blue -> red) and try again. The devices work for me, I am planning to put in a few more in the back yard, once the pool is done. (yay me!) Hope this helps.
