I’ve had this deodorizer for about 6 months and it is still working. I decided to write a review because so many people were saying it releases ozone and is dangerous. They clearly explain in the FAQ that it releases negative ions (totally safe and naturally occurring) but a small amount of ozone is released as part of charging these ions. The ozone production is under 0.05ppm (parts per million) which falls under no concern. Gov agencies consider 51-100ppm of moderate concern and over 100ppm as hazardous. Neither my cats or I have experienced any side effects and we all have other health conditions and are regularly seen by doctors/vets. To be clear, this is not an ozone generating purifier. Those are harmful and produce much much more ozone. Negative ion purifiers produce very little ozone and are generally considered safe by most regulatory agencies. The litter box smell went away within days and I have been a happy customer since. I would encourage you to read about negative ion purifiers vs ozone purifiers before purchasing. I did and have no concerns. To me, it’s of similar to the radiation coming off my cell phone every day. The risk is incredibly low and I value the positive impact of the product.
