I purchased the Shop-Vac 8-gallon, 5.5 HP, stainless steel wet/dry model as an all around garage vacuum at my home. I reviewed a few different models and decided upon this one because it had a larger tank, higher peak HP, stainless look, and blow off features than many of the others. This seemed to be the perfect price to performance ratio for the average home. Assembley was extremely easy and took a total of 5-10 minutes. Out of the box I simply added the handles, accessory storage piece, and caster wheels. The caster wheels came preassembled and just needed to be popped into place. The plastic handles on each side of the tank came with 2 screws each, and installed in minutes. The accessory storage piece clicks into place. I will say, the instructions are hard to follow and it took a bit of time to comprehend because they're they type that can be used for multiple shop vac models of all shapes and sizes and many parts begin to mislead you. I tested this out by using around the garage, and on both mine and my wife's vehicles. I was extremely impressed with the power. I'm glad I purchased this model as it has a longer cord and hose than some of the cheaper ones. These features really came in handy. I'll also note, for most dry vacuuming you don't need to use the included bag (or purchase additional ones) as this is only for vacuuming fine materials such as powdery drywall dust. I would definitely recommend this model, and suggest this as a perfect model for the average home. This has already come in handy on many occasions. I rate this a 5/5.
