So.. we actually requested a replacement as the original never decompressed properly, even after two weeks. Now, the replacement hasn't decompressed properly either. I don't know if it is just because of its size ( California king ), but the corners are not returning to original shape and feel hard as rocks. Even the areas that decompressed never rose to 12 inches. We ordered twins for the kids and their mattresses were perfect after about 4 hours. We left them alone for 3 days to ensure proper decompression, and we absolutely love them. The kids sleep better and really enjoy them. Super bummed I cannot say the same for ours. 03/09/2018 - increased the rating This mattress has actually improved since I wrote the original review. We ended up keeping the replacement as we had mother choice. We couldn't afford another purchase. It's been about a year and it decompressed about 3 to 4 weeks later. The corners are still rounded and not fully decompressed, but it softened and has been very comfortable. I recommend it to all kinds of people, but i warn that it takes WAY longer to decompress than what they say.
