Shockingly good!
I spent awhile searching through the bargain makeup brush sets here. I settled on this one because it's cheap, pretty and shipped from Europe rather than China or Japan...usually China or Japan mail takes a month to arrive. These arrived well before expected, a week and a half. Well-packaged and all in plastic, as you can see. Since everyone else, on every cheap makeup brush set, mentions it, yes, they do have a faint smell of paint when you first open them. Big deal. That's why you either air them out or gently wash them.
I mainly wanted these for the pencil brushes and the fluffy powder/buffing brushes. And I love those brushes. The pencil brushes are the perfect size for getting in the crease and smoking-out the undereye...plus they don't tug, at all.
The ONLY thing I don't like about the set is the stippling brush...it's too long/floppy and not dense enough for stippling, I actually prefer my small ELF stippling brush, to this. I won't take a star off for that, though, as I didn't buy the set for that particular brush.
The eyeliner brush works great, nice and precise and smooth.
Oh, and all these brushes are insanely SOFT...I couldn't believe it. I actually thought that they might be too soft to pick up product BUT that is not the case, AT ALL.
The flat foundation/concealer brushes do their job, as well...I even used the medium flat brush to apply contour, to the cheeks...very precise application.
There's minimal shedding so far. If that's something you're worried about you could probably just squeeze the metal base a little, to make it more secure...I don't feel like you'd have to, though...just an idea.
I'd really recommend these for the budget beauty shopper. Heck, you could even just buy them for looks...if you do beauty videos and want some pretty brushes in the background.
