As a backer in the crowd funding campaign that produced with documentary, I have had the privilege of early access to stream this program, hence my ability to say a few words about it before it's been formally released. This project could have been tackled by a passionate group of fans and probably turned out with satisfactory results. Instead, we are treated to a well structured film, crafted by the showrunner of DS9 for most of its lifespan, Ira Steven Behr. With Behr's connections, we are able to hear stories and points-of-view recollections that other film-makers would never had access to. The most unique part of this "look back" is the "look forward" Behr has given us with the inclusion of the writers room segments where many of the show's original writers reunite to break the first episode of what would be Season 8, set 25 years after season 7. Great Stuff! Oh, and lest's not forget that this will be first (and hopefully not the only) time DS9 will be presented in High Definition! Many minutes worth of clips have been remastered for Blu-Ray, including some incredible starship battle footage! This film has been a long time coming...don't make yourself wait another minute.
