I waited a one month before writing this review and wanted to offer some tips on usage and maintenance. This was perfect my needs. But needs are different for everyone. So here is a brief background, I required a dedicated (no attachments) light weight hardwood floor vacuum that could also handle area rugs. This Oreck vacuum cleaner would stay on the main floor as I've a have separate heavy duty carpet vacuum cleaner already on the downstairs. For this need, it worked perfectly and very effectively. I did try it on carpet and the suction was poor compared to my heavy duty one. In summary, if you are looking for durable light weight vacuum for hardwood floor or very low pile carpet, this is the one for you. Below are some tips about the Oreck XL2100RHS vacuum cleaner. FIRST TIP: Do NOT get this GREEN vacuum bag refill: PK800025. This is the bag suggested in the owner's manual along with PK80009. But it is NOT the bag supplied with Oreck XL2100RHS . There is reason why. It's a cheaper quality and does not hold up. Look at the reviews. The bag supplied with the Oreck XL2100RHS and the one I have bought is this model: PK80009. This is the exact BLUE BAG supplied with the unit. Again, you want to order the BLUE BAG REFILL: PK80009. SECOND TIP: You will be supplied a Fresh scented tab with the Oreck XL2100RHS . It looks like a very large pill and is supposed to prevent odors. This tab is to be placed inside a small fabric pocket. This pocket is located inside the outer bag in the area where the disposable bag attaches to the connector assembly. THIRD TIP: Oreck has already included a replacement belt which is conveniently placed in the storage channel under the vacuum cleaner head. It's recommended you change this belt every 6 months to a year. LAST TIP: If possible, make filter/belt purchases from AMAZON themselves.
