Case Connoisseur, "Best protective case in its class.."
As of today I own eight iPhone 6 Plus cases and this one is my favorite. I've been waiting for an Otterbox Defender but they are taking too long.
This case is a fraction of the cost of what the Otterbox cases normally go for yet its in their league. I won't say its as high quality as an Otterbox but I think its because there is less case here. What I mean is that this case uses less plastic so it makes it slimmer and thus feels more fragile than an Otterbox BUT thats only when its off the phone. Due to how well it fits it feels perfectly sturdy when its all together on the actual iPhone 6 Plus.
// Screen Protector
I removed it - I always do. I take the built in screen protectors off the Otterbox Defender because they get in the way. I add my own screen protector that protects the screen and clings to it like a screen protector should.
Its super easy to remove the screen protector. It pops right off and then just wipe away the thin line of residue left behind by the glue that held the protector in place. The front plate (the screen side) then sits atop my screen protector and keeps debris out and allows for better finger to screen contact. Plus, because this case clips in sandwich style it pinches the screen protector and prevents the sides from lifting up.
// Buttons
I am amazed how easy it is to press the volume and sleep button. It is just as easy to press the buttons with the case on as it is when the iPhone is naked. I don't know how they did it but the case has the best button usage than any case so far.
The Touch-ID home button is completely free of obstruction. The bottom part of the front panel fits nicely around the bottom of the phone and leaves plenty of room around the home button - take a look at the picture I posted.
The ports are easily accessible. The Lightning port has an opening large enough to fit charges made by third parties and not just Apple. The speaker and microphone is unblocked. The headphone jack seems to work with many other headphone jacks also.
// Body
Great size - It keeps the phone slim and still protects it. It's as small as it can be while still protecting it. I'm not very thrilled with the sharp lines and squared design. As I've said in other reviews, I like rounded cases on my rounded phone. I'm also not a fan of the industrial design on the back. I'd like a smoother, flatter, simple look rather than the machined look that it has but thats just a matter of personal taste.
// Belt Clip
I don't use it. It is hard to rotate the clip. It snaps onto the phone firmly. I don't know if it will last with extended usage and I don't plan to find out since I wont use it.
Overall, the case is great. I normally dont have much to complain about when I get a case for under $30. I am impressed by how firm the case feels. I think this will be my main case until I get the Defender from Otterbox. Once I get the Defender I'll compare the two and update this review (if I remember).
