I print extra pictures for drawing and works well! Also I use printer paper for refill paper and works well!
My 8 year old loves this! She will trace different designs of horses and then pass the to her 4 year old sister to color! It is simple you place the design you want to trace on the trace pad and then put a piece of paper over top and turn the light on and trace! I just use computer paper paper it works well. I also print out drawings from the computer so that she can trace a lot more different variations.
