I LOVE this ladder! But I have a suggestion for men that "don't need to read instructions because they're only written for ppl that can't figure things out", let your wife read the instructions and show you how to use this ladder. I am a 60 yr old mother of all sons and grandsons. They are all of superior intelligence so they do not need to read directions for anything, ever. So, while I was sitting reading directions and looking at the useful diagrams, my husband attested to "figure it out". He walked away with both index fingers bleeding and mumbling something I couldn't quite hear. As I continue to read, my adult son made his attempt, he now has a profusely bleeding tip of a finger . After I finished my reading I went to the ladder. I extended it fully, climbed to the top where I felt completely safe because it's not wobbly at all (I'm 160lb) then I lowered the ladder, strapped it up and carried it to it's new spot in MY storage room. All of this was done with zero bleeding and zero pain. If you need a ladder I highly recommend this one, I also highly recommend reading instructions first LOL
