Great upgrade from an already great tracker.
Just got the vivofit 3 at best buy today. I have both the vivofit and vivofit 2 and this is a great next progression of the vivofit line. I am very happy with the product as a whole. I went for a run today and the move iq was pretty close as mileage goes. It did overestimate by about a quarter mile on a 3 mile run. The biking was close as well.
Set up was pretty straight forward just know that you have to sync through garmin connect. If you sync to your phone before syncing to garmin connect app it will not work. Garmin connect is a great app to use and will sync with dozens of other fitness apps for further functionality.
Step tracking was close to my vivofit 2. I wore both devices on the same arm while I walked the girls to school the devices were a few stops off but all in all very close.
I really love that you can change the clock faces. It's a cool feature, but I love even more the fact that you can use split screen to see the time as well as steps (or any other metric) at the same time.
The two things I didn't like we're that the bands for a regular wrist were far too large. It's nothing a pair of scissors couldn't fix but it does feel a little strange cutting the band on a $100 tracker I had just taken out of the box. The other is while many people disliked the large screens on previous models I personally liked them. This is a personal complaint mind you and I understand it will increase the battery life, but for me it will take a fair bit of getting used to.
In summary I have had a few different devices from the first Fitbit to the Surge, and for me personally it is Garmin all the way. I love never having to charge the device and I really love the fact I can swim with it and not to take it off. This is hands down the best tracker available for under $100. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a solid performing tracker who doesn't want to fiddle with charging every few days.
