As a professional lighting designer, I say these units are fantastic. They look like regular bulbs, But they use this unique LED light source (see pic) inside shatterproof plastic covers that look just like regular medium base bulbs. They are also dimmable! I own thousands of feet of traditional bistro lights and we break several bulbs on every job; not to mention, many of them don’t work or become “super bright”. These bulbs and wiring seem very durable and I think the one spare LED per set will be adequate. I just installed 500 feet in the woods on my family farm and I was dragging them over rocks and logs with no issues. The incredibly low power draw is amazing. 100 feet of light for 35W! You can also string many of the strands together and they worked out the plug lead length so when they connect end to end, the bulbs are still spaced correctly. I do however disagree with their very warm 2700K color temperature description. I’d say it’s more like 3200K.
